Small Group Instruction & Push-In Support

At BCSC, an on-site ESL coordinator and two ESL teachers offer English language-learner support services to all students in need.

Approximately 14% of our students receive ESL (English as a Second Language) services to help them with English acquisition, through small group instruction and push-in support in their regular classrooms.

Our English language-learner population demonstrates progress through a significant annual test-out rate on the year-end NY State ESL achievement exams.  In addition to English support, we provide grades 3-5 with twice-weekly Spanish classes, to introduce a second language to all of our students.
