The Bronx Charter School for Children
The Bronx Charter School for Children is a public elementary school that provides a rigorous academic curriculum supplemented with opportunities for enrichment, ensuring academic challenge and support to all students. Nurturing the potential of each child is our goal. We value the integration of literacy and math skills with all other content areas and encourage active inquiry. We are an educational community of teachers and learners, working together to emphasize the highest standards and levels of achievement, promote positive leadership and healthy choices, and develop resourceful, responsible and thoughtful citizens of tomorrow.
Help Support the Bronx Charter School for Children
Charter schools are public schools. However, the BCSC, like all charter schools, only receives approximately 70% of the NYS public per pupil funding allocation. Although this money stream serves as our primary source of funding, it does not take into account the cost of facilities, maintenance or innovative programs. Therefore, it is necessary that we raise general support from a range of private sources to address this funding shortfall.
Generous gifts, such as yours, make it possible for the BCSC to evolve and help to improve efforts to meet the growing educational needs of our students. Your contribution means that more kids have what they need to learn, from books to art supplies. Thank you for your support!
